I took an Uber the other day and noticed this for the first time.
After my request was accepted, the app informed me that the driver could be deaf or hard of hearing.
I read up and found this-
Uber enables Accessibility features for drivers who are deaf or hard of hearing.
The driver app allows drivers to indicate the same through settings.
“I’m deaf or hard of hearing” feature will notify riders that their driver is deaf or HOH and will turn off the ability for the rider to call their driver. Instead, riders are directed to text their driver if they need to communicate with them.
Other accessibility features for drivers include the options to adjust settings for screen flash or vibrations for alerts.
I’m wondering how riders who are deaf or HOH would communicate. Via Message?
Have you had either experiences?
