The Gender of Science

“When I step out to work, I’m not a woman. I’m a scientist. Science has no gender…”

-Dr. Tessy Thomas, the Missile Woman of India, addressing the WITI (Women in Technology International) India Annual Summit

“What recommendations would you provide for women striving to balance their personal and professional lives?” When I posed this question during QnA, I expected an answer around time management, planning, or prioritization.

Instead, I got “Passion and Perseverance”.

Dr. Tessy remarked how personal dedication and commitment will drive everything else to fall in line, including family support.

And quoting Dr. Kalam, “Learn, learn, learn. Your knowledge will be acknowledged”

My 6yo girl was watching 😊
